Profile:
Artemis stands at around average height with a slightly gangly build, where he doesn’t seem to have quite gotten used yet to being longer limbed than he was as a child. His features are on the effeminate side and he has oversized glasses that seem to spend most of their time answering to gravity and sliding down his nose. Without his glasses his vision is very poor, having spent too many long nights reading heavy tomes in poor lighting.
Caucasian, Artemis is paler than some after shunning the sunlight for the labs and the library. Both his hair and eyes are brown, his hair being a warm colour to the middle of the range and his almond shaped eyes deep and dark. His hair naturally has a slight wave to it and was once cut to the formal fashion seen in London during the era. However it’s been allowed to go too long between trims and currently flops down in a slightly haphazard mess. Artemis’ clothes were probably in fashion and of good make at one point, but he seems to wear them slightly mismatched and a number of the articles are a little threadbare around the edges.
Despite having a number of troubles with his health and private life, as well as generally being shunned by his peers, Artemis remains a friendly and cheerful individual, trying his best to see the positive in every situation and get along with the people he meets. His natural expression is an easy smile, though there’s a lingering sadness that always seems present in the depths of his eyes.
Before moving, Artemis was a researcher at the University of Cambridge in England. He graduated from the university and stayed on to obtain a doctorate of science. Since then he’s spent his time doing research and also assisting in classes. When a letter came through to the Dean of the department asking for a specialist to be sent over to take part in an investigation, Artie was chosen primarily because he was expendable to the running of the department, though he was told a different story.
His few things were packed up and he travelled across sea and land with them for several months. Upon his arrival he found a small apartment above a general store had been procured for him to stay in for the duration of his time in America. Artemis has done his best to settle in to the area, though still hits trouble frequently due to culture clashes between his British mannerisms and those of the local people.
