Cash on Hand: 2500$
Savings: 2500$
Savings in stocks, bonds etc. (convertible in no less than 30 days): 2500$
Personal Property: 25000$
Real Estate: Filip owns a small rundown house in the suburbs of Arkham. He bought it two months ago, buying it off for an insignificant sum because of its state. Filip doesn’t spend much time there, spending most of his time at the small studio in the old industrial part of the town or at the Miskatonic University. The studio was a tanner’s workshop some years ago…being abandoned until Filip moved his paints and canvases into it. (the cost of the house is deducted from the personal property sum)

Equipment: Filip owns a collection of his paintings brought from Europe, a number of canvases and cans of expensive paining oil and brushes. He brought a number of books from Paris too, mostly classics of European literature and some art books.
Description: Filip is a man of medium height and weight, with his frame seeming a bit more fragile because of his bad posture. Well past twenty, his raven black hair is streaked with gray threads, though his well trimmed moustache resist the years staying black as ever. Dressed in a cheap rucked suit, he looks like the epitome of the weird artist stereotype.
On the other hand, when not distant or lost in though, Filip is outspoken and communicative. His English is heavily accentuated, mixing the softness of French and the guttural Eastern European accent, making him sound even more out of place. He is a man of many interest, if somewhat lacking formal education. He is knowledgeable about subjects of art, history, philosophy and most humanities but lacking the cutting edge of true academics.
By most accounts strange, Filip’s creativity sometimes flirts with abnormal – making him naturally interested in the occult and paranormal.
History: Born as a bastard child to a middle classed newspaper kiosk owner in Zagreb, Filip was raised under the care of his overprotective mother. Not only that he lived as a single child with his mother, the fact that mother never married made his life even more difficult. He finished high school in Zagreb, after which he planned to join an art school in Paris. His mother couldn’t accept Filip’s wish to become a painter, so he left home without her approval, moving to Paris.
He had some savings, but for the first years, survived in Paris by doing everything from waiting tables to menial jobs in warehouses. Managing to save some money to join the university, Filip continued to work through the next decade of his education. He didn’t succeed in getting a formal diploma on Sorbonne, spending most of his time painting under the more prominent painters of the time and gallivanting in the numerous Paris cafés and clubs.
Filip’s (or Phillipe’s, as he was know in Paris) paintings were a hit among the Paris debauched bourgeoisie, with his alien and horrific compositions fitting the niche of darker symbolism art of the time (with critics calling his art la plus sombre symbolisme, or translated to English, the darkest symbolism). With the years, his art became more and more off the edge, losing its initial popularity even among the hardiest fans.
At the time, Filip packed his possessions and moved to the US. There, he hoped to find new inspiration for his art…
