History:
When Joe Callahan went to War in 1917 he was a young idealistic kid full of hope and curiosity for the future.
When he came back almost 2 years later he was a hardened veteran of the trenches. The youthful idealism burned away by what he had witnessed in the hell of the western front.
The first year or so was hard; he drifted from job to job until he became a guard for the New York Federal Reserve. His actions in preventing an attempted robbery brought him promotion to Special Agent in the Department of the Treasury. After several years he was transferred to the Bureau of Investigation which was in desperate need of trained Agents as it expanded.
Joe is a fairly cynical man in his mid twenties. His immediate suspicion is that everybody has broken some law and is hiding it.
A chain smoker if he is seen without a cigarette in his mouth for more than 10 minutes he is either asleep or swimming.
