Spencer grew up on the poor side of town and at the age of 8 yrs his mother miscarried a sibling (a sister), his father, an abusive alcoholic took the deceased baby in a burlap bag and went out to the back of the property where Spencer witnessed his dad bury the corpse.

Just before tossing the child into her grave Spencer saw the bag move and was sure his sister was still alive-but could do nothing-frozen in fear he watched as his father covered his baby sister with dirt. This gruesome image haunted him his entire life (to this day he hears the sound of crying babies whenever he sleeps) and spawned his desire to fight crime and help others.

Because of his poor financial situation he was never able to attend a "proper" school and got his education from a series of trade schools and simple street smarts.

Spence (as he is known by his few friends) is quite the loner and prefers it that way. His best friend is his firearm which he is never without.
