CoC Rules and House Rules
Call of Cthulhu Rules
I'm not going to waste time writing rules for the game when it has been done already. Everything you need to know about how a character is created and the basics of CoC gameplay can be found by down loading the Call of Cthulhu Quick Start rules pdf from Chaosium.com. I'd recommend everyone print out this document and keep it handy for reference.
Before the game begins, I will get with each player and roll their various attributes. Once those have been determined, you can then begin fleshing out your character.
House Rules
1) In order to keep the RP flowing smoothly, time between posts will be kept to about 48 hours. This will mainly come into play during combat scenes where I don’t want to hold up the action if someone has forgotten to post. Two evenings and two days is ample time for players to check in and post, yet keeping the schedule of the game somewhat casual. Posting times on weekends will be extended to about 72 hours. If someone hasn’t posted in time I will make a judgment call based on what I know of their character and what the situation is. This will most likely involve your character hanging back and making a basic attack in combat or simply staying quiet at other times. If you are going to be away from the game for lengthy periods of time, you can ask me or someone else to control your character so you do not miss anything.
2) In any situation where an initiative order has been posted, it is preferable that players post in order of initiative. However, as we all live in different time zones some leeway will be given to this. Players can post in any order but the resolutions will be made in order of initiative. If you want to post a contingency action along with your initial action, that will be fine.
3) Please refrain from the use of profanity and graphic sexual content.
